A free exhibit on the history of the Claremont Fire Department is open at the Mike Satzow Visitors Center through January 2027.
The exhibit, titled "Claremont Fire Department," is on display at 14 North St. and open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to an Oct. 22 city announcement from the Arts, History & Culture Commission.
Visitors will find historic items from the fire department alongside pieces from the collection of Nick Koloski, a Claremont city councilor. The exhibit also includes video clips covering both historical and current information about the department.
Fire Chief Jim Chamberlain and former Fire Chief Rick Bergeron share their perspectives in the exhibit. Bergeron previously served as the city's fire chief and is now interim city manager.
An opening reception is planned for later in the fall, though the commission has not announced a specific date.
